Dr. Stone received his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency at New York University.  He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Braintree Hospital in Massachusetts.  He is certified from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Family Practice, with a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine.

He co-authored the second edition of Sports Injuries, a comprehensive textbook on sports medicine. He also serves as:
